Two Childbirth Deaths at South Shore Hospital Raise Concerns

South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, has drawn the attention of state medical officials and others due to recent deaths of two women from complications during childbirth within the span of one month. The Boston Herald, which reports that the State is now investigating the deaths, also quotes Lubin & Meyer's founding partner, Andrew Meyer, who stated,

“In this day and age, maternal deaths in most circumstances should not occur. There are those rare cases when they do occur … but the reality is in 2014, healthy mothers going into childbirth should not run into fatal complications.”
